The talented Jessie J is one of the world’s biggest stars and a fashion icon in her own right. The singer songwriter rose to fame in 2010 after the release of her hit debut single Do It like a Dude and, with flawless vocals and an original style that has influenced fans and fellow stars alike, it’s no wonder she’s gone on to develop an impressive career, alongside an ever-growing catalogue of hair looks. We’re celebrating the unique star’s 29th birthday by taking a look back at her most memorable hairstyles to date.
After graduating from the famous BRIT school and taking part in a host of talent shows and theatre performances, a 22 year old Jessie J emerged onto the pop scene in 2010 with a sleek, statement black fringed bob. Alongside her unique vocals, this original style made Jessie J stand out from the crowd and she soon became one of the most talked about artists of the moment.
With ombre fast becoming a huge hair trend, it was only right that the fashion-forward Jessie J fronted this look in 2012. With the star showing off brunette, red, blue and purple ombre styles, it was obvious that the singer liked to get creative with her style.
On 15 March 2013, Jessie J’s hair was shaved off on live TV in aid of charity Comic Relief. The star later bleached her ultra-short shaved hair and showed off this drastic new look on the cover of her second studio album Alive.
After dying her super cropped hair a variety of vibrant shades, Jessie J began to grow out her hair and reverted back to her classic, jet black shade.
Whilst growing out her hair, Jessie also experimented with a host of wigs and extensions. We love this curly, centre-parted style that the star showed off during the release of her single Bang Bang with Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande.
The experimental singer donned another wig in 2016, this time a lilac bobbed style that was an obvious ode to her original hairstyle back in 2010.
Perhaps the most sensible of the star’s hairstyles, Jessie J has recently sported a long, shiny black hairstyle, with a simple centre parting.
