Take a look at some of the daring beauty trends from London Fashion Week AW17 and discover how you can recreate these fabulous looks for your client. From vivid blue eye make-up to smudged lips, there’s no denying these beauty looks make a statement.
Upcoming fashion designer Mimi Wade decided against traditional flushed rose cheeks for her models at this season’s LFW. Instead, the designer opted for vibrant orange blusher, a great alternative to pink and the perfect way to make sure her models stood out from the crowd. This daring look can be recreated for your client using Sleek MakeUP’s blusher in shade Life’s a Peach. This deep coral shade suits a range of skin tones and will instantly update your client’s make-up look. This soft, fine blusher provides simple application and is easy to blend, meaning your client can opt for a more subtle touch of orange or can go all out and follow this statement LFW look by making the most of this highly pigmented blusher.
A regular catwalk trend, the smudged lip was, once again, present at this season’s show. Making an appearance on the Temperley London catwalk, this smudged lip look added a cool, laidback edge to their smart yet elegant range of designs. With a variety of floor length gowns on show, to a number of straight, structured dresses, the addition of the smudged lip instantly updated this formal collection. You can recreate the smudged lip trend for clients by simply applying their lipstick of choice to their lips and gently blurring the edges with a cotton bud. Opt for a deep red or pink shade to achieve the perfect ‘just bitten’ lip look. We love Sleek MakeUP’s True Colour lipstick range as it provides a number of gorgeous shades and the creamy formulas enable easy smudging.
Blue eye make-up
Vivid blue eye-makeup was a huge hit at this season’s LFW shows. With an 80’s revival in full swing in the world of fashion, it’s no surprise that this influential era was inspiring the make-up at the Versus Versace catwalk show. With a wild streak of vibrant blue across their eyelids, models’ hair and make-up was minimal, allowing this daring eye-look to stand out. Why not inject some colour into your client’s make-up look with Sleek MakeUP’s selection of i-Divine eye palettes? We love the Ultra Matte’s palette, a vivid collection of shades that includes two gorgeous blue colours that will allow you to instantly update your client’s make-up look true 80’s style.
Stars Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian have both previously dabbled with this trend but, with strong, statement brows being such a staple in many client’s make-up regimes, bleached eyebrows are a controversial look. Appearing on Mary Katrantzou’s catwalk, bleached brows have been a huge fashion week hit throughout the last few seasons. To achieve this look for your client, use RefectoCil’s blonde bleaching paste, an effective lightening product that lifts eyebrows up to three levels.
