New York Fashion Week

Now that New York Fashion Week has come to an end, we’re reflecting on the hair and beauty trends that really caught our eye.

Adventurous face jewellery

Face Jewellery was a major talking point during Givency’s Autumn collection and the trend continued to pick up speed during New York Fashion Week. Along with Riccard Tisci sending his Givenchy models down the runway complete with face jewellery, Dion Lee and Baga East also followed the trend, with their models wearing a range of rhinestones and customised ‘face separators’.

Revisiting the 70s

The 70s made a triumphant return as many designers, including Tommy Hilfiger and Karan Walker, had their models strut down the runway in bell bottoms, patchwork and mixed prints along with an overall 70’s flavour.

Diane von Furstenberg also implemented 70s inspired hair and beauty on her models which included Kendall Jenner, who had blue liner along her lashes, aquamarine shadow around her eyes and bouncy curls.

Groomed brows

Groomed brows were also a hit this year, with Victoria Beckham’s show leading the way for inspiration. Ensure you keep your clients on trend by implementing My Beautiful Eyes treatments into your salon as well as their range of retail products.

Inspiring nail art

As always, nail art was at the forefront of many beauty lovers’ minds during the week long shows. From outgoing crazy designs to simple nude styles, nail art continues to capture the imagination of beauty and fashion lovers everywhere, as demonstrated during the last week. Explore our range of nail art, including CND™ Additives and Minx.

Beautiful braids

New York Fashion Week was the home of the braid this year, with variations of this simple style being seen on the runway for many designers. Michael Kors had their models sporting windblown braids, which can be recreated using dry shampoo to create a messy hair texture, whilst Sano and DKNY had their models strutting down the runway in herringbone braids and twist braids.

Less is more

The trend of customers wanting a more natural look is set to continue, with a majority of models from Victoria Beckham’s, Alexander Wang’s and Thakoon’s shows hitting the runway adopting the ‘less is more’ look, which relies on radiant and well hydrated skin. To achieve this look, Kaeso have a range of mists and exfoliators to suit all types of skin that will your clients feeling replenished and fresh.
