From statement, embellished nails to metallic eyes, our Directory models are sure to inspire your hair and beauty looks for 2018. Discover how these gorgeous looks were created below and find out how you can recreate them for your clients.

Taking inspiration from the catwalk, it was essential that our model Letitia showed off bold, bright pops of colour on her nails, contrasting perfectly with her simple neutral base and lip look. Vibrant nail colours have been a reoccurring trend over the past few months and are set to be even more prevalent throughout 2018. Freelance session nail artist Jen McColl used a selection of vivid nail polishes, a fine nail art pen and a very steady hand to create this pop-art inspired manicure.

“We wanted something really bold for this model that was high contrast,” said Jen. “I think the colours we chose were the perfect mix of vibrants. There was also a pop art element with the spots and the geometric shapes within it that I really loved. It made a continuous theme throughout the nails whilst managing to have a lot of variety in colour.”

Recreate Letitia’s manicure using the Rhythm and Heat collection from Vinylux™. This collection features a selection of bold, tropical shades, ideal for replicating this look. The ultra-thin detailer brush from Lecenté is also a must when creating intricate nail art designs.

Cindy’s glamorous nail look combined statement embellishment with classic colour, a look that has been consistently spotted across SS18 shows.

“For this look, we wanted something classic but a bit more amped up,” said Jen. “The diamantes really elevated the classic burgundy nail shade. The signature nails also had a large cluster of different shaped rhinestones which helped to modernise the look.”

Use Decadence from Vinylux™ to achieve Cindy’s gorgeous nail look. Use a selection of crystals and stones from Star Nails and Swarovski to add interest to an accent nail for a look that’s statement yet sophisticated.

Letitia’s make-up look is all about the eyes. Baby blue eyeshadow was used, alongside metallic silver eyeliner on the waterline and ARDELL wispies for extra glamour. Make-up artist Helena Lyons also added a sixties-inspired dash of black beneath the pupils to enhance this look. This elegant eye look was paired with a soft, dewy base, natural brushed brows and a neutral peach lip colour.

The Calm Before the Storm eyeshadow palette from Sleek Make-UP is the perfect choice to recreate Letitia’s bold blue eye look. Add this to yours supplies, along with the Sleek MakeUP eyeliner pencils in shades Sheer Marine and black and a pair of ARDELL’s natural wispies lashes.

Again, Cindy’s make-up look concentrated on the eyes, pairing silver and gold metallic eyeshadows with fluttery, statement lashes. To compliment the metallic trend, Helena created a glowy base for Cindy, highlighting areas such as the bridge of the nose, cheek bones and the cupids bow. A deep berry nude shade was added to Cindy’s lips to complete the look.

You can achieve Cindy’s healthy glow with the Solstice palette from Sleek MakeUP, a must-have for highlighter lovers. We also love the Sleek MakeUP CC cream, a product that offers beautiful coverage and a soft, dewy glow, just like Cindy’s.

Braids are a constant within the fashion industry. Whatever the occasion, there’s a braid to match and this staple hair look is set to be everywhere during SS18. As industry leaders, it was only right that our model Letitia sported a braided look on the cover of our 2018 Directory. Coloured extensions were added to create dimension, a technique that has been seen across numerous catwalks. With a central braided section at the top of Letitia’s head and two French braids at the sides, this intricate look can be interpreted in a number of different ways and is ideal for clients who like to stand out from the crowd.

Use the Crazy Color semi-permanent range to add temporary colour to your client’s hair before braiding. This look is ideal for festival season or summer holidays.

Similar to her nail look, hair stylist Jo Brown opted for a classic hair style for model Cindy. Her thick, brunette lob was gently waved to create a sophisticated look that would allow her make-up to make the statement.

You can recreate Cindy’s gorgeous waves using the Diva Intelligent Digital styler, a versatile tool that can be used to achieve sleek, straight looks or gentle waves and curls.
