Our 5 favourite Christmas movies

With Christmas just around the corner, we’ve put together our favourite Christmas movies in preparation for the big day.

Deciding what festive flick to watching during the Christmas holidays can be even more challenging than deciding on what colour of Shellac™ to use for the Christmas party. From silly Santa’s to shoot-outs in the snow, we all have our favourites.

So to save you from any family fighting over the remote and any potentially pulled hair, we’ve put together a list of the 5 best Christmas movies that you can work your way through during the holidays.

5. Die Hard

A firm favourite for all the Dads; Die Hard is the all action cult classic which made a star out of the wise-cracking Bruce Willis, as his quiet Christmas got turned upside thanks to some sinister kidnappers.

4. Muppet Christmas Carol

The Muppet twist on Dickens classic winter tale starred Michael Caine as Scrooge who learns the true meaning of Christmas.

3. Elf

Elf starring Will Ferrell is one of the most popular Christmas comedies of recent times. With a hat full of quotable lines and a loveable Christmas character, it hits all the right spots for a Christmas classic.

2. Bad Santa

One for the adults; Bad Santa flipped the switch on what we expect from Santa. Billy Bob Thornton’s portrayal of a chain smoking, beer swigging and foul mouthed Santa had us in stitches, and gave us a heart-warming Christmas finale.

1. Home Alone

Home Alone emphasises the importance of love and family around Christmas and at the same time shows the loveable Macaulay Culkin live out every child’s dream of having no parents and doing whatever they want during Christmas. Full of laughs and with something for the entire family, it definitely tops our list.

What do you think of our list? Did we miss any of your favourite Christmas classics off? Let us know in the comments.
